Ingredients
- 1 (750-milliliter) bottle dry red wine
- 1/4 cup "measures-like-sugar" calorie-free sweetener
- 1/4 cup orange rind strips
- 1/4 cup lemon rind strips
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 7 whole cloves
- 4 black peppercorns
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 6 cups fresh peach slices
Preparation
- 1. Combine first 8 ingredients in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat; cook 15 minutes or until wine mixture is reduced to 1 1/2 cups. Cool to room temperature.
- 2. Strain mixture through a sieve over a bowl; discard solids. Combine wine mixture and peaches in a bowl; cover and chill 4 hours, stirring occasionally.
