Ingredients
- 1/2 cup(s) sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) grated lemon rind
- 1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
- 3 cup(s) chopped peeled peaches
- 2 cup(s) fresh blueberries
- 1 tablespoon(s) fresh lemon juice
- 1-1/3 cup(s) flour
- 1/3 cup(s) sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
- 3 tablespoon(s) chilled butter in small pieces
- 2/3 cup(s) buttermilk
- 1-1/2 tablespoon(s) turbinado sugar
Preparation
- For filling:
- Combine 1st 4 ingredients, add fruit and juice; spoon into 8 inch sq. pan, sprayed.
- Bake 400 degrees for 15 min.
- For topping:
- Whisk dry ingredients, cut in butter, add buttermilk and stir just until moist.
- Drop dough onto filling in 8 rounds.
- Sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake 25 min. until bubbly and golden.
- Serves 8
