Overnight French Toast

Great easy recipe. Cook bacon in oven at the same time. Add fruit or maple syrup. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Ingredients

  • 12 3/4" slices French or Challah bread
  • 6 eggs
  • 1-1/4 cup(s) milk
  • 1/4 cup(s) half-and-half
  • 1/4 cup(s) sugar
  • 2 tablespoon(s) maple syrup
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) salt

Preparation

  1. Arrange bread slices in buttered 9X13" baking dish (they will overlap). In a large bowl, beat eggs. Add milk, cream, sugar, syrup, vanilla extract & salt. Pour over bread. Refrigerate, covered, overnight. Turn slices over once or twice to make sure they're evenly coated with egg mixture. In the morning, bake in preheated 400 degree oven, for 15 minutes. Turn over & bake 20 minutes more. If desired, place under broiler to brown. Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar if desired. Serve with fresh fruit or maple syrup.
