Orzo Salad

Used this as a quick side dish to go with chicken sandwiches & liked it for that purpose. I did substitute cherry tomatoes for the peas (which I despise in pasta) & they gave it more of a summery side dish feel. Good go to side when you don't want something complicated.

This was one of the more disappointing recipes I've made from Cooking Light. Just generally boring. I won't make it again. Some of the substitutions below sound promising but life's just too short and there are so many better recipes.

I thought this pasta salad was great (with a few minor changes)! It is very light and flavorful. I left out the peas and the feta and added cherry tomatoes instead. I also mixed in some basil with the parsley for a little more flavor and made it more Italian style. After I did that, I loved it. The vinegrette was great and orzo is the perfect pasta for pasta salad. I will definetly make this again with the modifications that others suggested. Taste the best when served straight from the fridge.

Great, except I thought the garlic was a little too dominant. Also, I cut the oil down to 1 T. (And it came out fine, and not stuck in clumps.) I served the orzo salad with a roast chicken I bought at the supermarket, and it made a nice, light, semi-homecooked without much heat, summer meal.

I, too, added cherry tomatoes and replaced the parsley with basil. It was a hit-I loved it! I will definitely be adding it to my regular recipes. Fresh and the balsamic vinegar was so yummy. I added a little extra splash of vinegar and oil before serving to freshen it up. Very good.

Very good & so easy to make. Looks like it wouldn't make alot, but makes enought to have left overs. I used exactly what it said, but I used Alouette Goat cheese Provencal, that was on sale & it was great!

Awful! I threw it out! I followed the recipe exactly. I usually like this mix of flavors, but for some reason it just didn't work with the orzo.

Very good! Added some halved grape tomatoes to it for some extra color. Nexxt time might add some toasted slivered almonds or some other nut.

Didn't like it at all. Threw it out. Followed the recipe exactly and was very disappointed. I usually like these flavors together but it was blah! Won't make it again.

I'm surprised by the very negative posts on here - I thought this was a nice summer pasta salad served chilled or room temperature. The orzo, peas, and feta paired quite well, and I liked the balsamic dressing, as opposed to a more standard mayo-based pasta salad. Great with barbecue foods and fresh corn on the cob.

I'm not sure why this recipe got such bad reviews by others. I have made this salad several times for parties and received compliments on it. It is easy and has a good flavor. It is best served cold so it's perfect for a make ahead summer salad. I will definitely make it again.

I love this salad. Not sure what is in it that would make some people describe it as awful. Unless you don't like balsamic or garlic. It's a great summer side dish.

Love this recipe. I made it several times for picnics and there is never anything left. The only thing I changed was I added chopped Kolimata olives to it.

This sounds fantastic! I think I'd leave out the peas for personal preference though. They have tons of great coupons over at http://printablecouponsanddeals.com/ Its updated constantly and you never know when a coupon will pop up that could be used in this recipe or others!
