Orange-Fig Jam
Serve this honey-colored jam alongside goat cheese or 1/3-less-fat cream cheese with assorted crackers. The recipe makes a lot, so store in decorative jars in your refrigerator to serve to unexpected guests and at impromptu parties. Tie on a pretty ribbon to present as a hostess gift.

Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups water
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup Grand Marnier (orange-flavored liqueur)
- 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
- 2 (7-ounce) packages dried Calimyrna figs, coarsely chopped
- 1 teaspoon grated orange rind
Preparation
- 1. Place all ingredients except orange rind in a 2 1/2-quart electric slow cooker; stir until sugar dissolves. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 hours. Stir in orange rind.
- 2. Place half of fig mixture in a food processor; process until smooth. Pour into a bowl. Repeat procedure with remaining fig mixture. Ladle jam into hot sterilized jars. Cover jars with metal lids; screw on bands. Cool to room temperature. Chill thoroughly; store in refrigerator.
