Orange-Chocolate Chip Buttermilk Pancakes

    This recipe is OUTRAGEOUS. If you want to seriously impress your guest or significant other, this recipe has so much rich flavor I would guarantee you CANNOT eat as many pancakes as you normally would. We froze these and microwaves them for a quick breakfast the next weekend and they were STILL outstanding! :)

    Very easy and a nice change from blueberry pancakes. I had regular chocolate chips and used them without any problem, but my husband and I agreed that mini chocolate chips would be better. Give these pancakes a try!

    Made this dessert for a Sunday morning treat and received numerous "Wow's" from my husband. This recipe is very easy and results are amazing and impressive. Followed the recipe exactly. Fantastic!

    I don't know how this recipe garners 5 stars. With the exception of using spelt flour, I followed the recipe to a "T"; but the batter was way too thin, resulting in flat, flimsy pancakes that I could barely turn over without having them fall apart. They also had a bitter, "chemical" taste from too much leavening. After the first batch I added another 1/2 cup of flour, which improved the batter consistency and flavor/body of the pancakes considerably. The rest of them turned out ok, although the orange flavor did not really come through. If I want orange/CC pancakes again I'll just add zest and chips to a good basic pancake recipe.

    These are delish, Trish! Sorry, must be my sugar buzz talking there. My husband ate the orange, so I used orange marmalade & orange extract, which worked excellently and saved me work! I also added ground flax seed because I add it to pretty much everything, but hello, chocolate and orange--so tasty. Today I learned that I do not make pancakes with buttermilk enough. It makes them so light and fluffy. How can I go back to pancakes sans buttermilk? I don't think I can. To close, ::opera singing & dramatic gesture:: Yuuuuuum!
