Love, love, love this sauce! I have made many of cranberry sauces and have been very disappointed with the out come each year. The onions and port wine are the perfect balance for the tartness of the cranberries. I usually don't like cranberry sauce, but because of the flavors coming together perfectly, I had seconds.

Made the Apple-Cranberry Sauce version two days ahead. It was easy and a big hit. Will definitely make it again.

I really liked the sweet-tart contrast of this recipe, although I think I will cut the sugar just a bit next time. The port was a very nice addition. I continue to enjoy this sauce after Thanksgiving by adding a spoonful or two to my morning oatmeal.

I was a little scared to use onions, but I didn't even notice them in the finished product. I combined a couple of the alternatives to the base recipe (apples and dried cherries) and it turned out great!

Great versatile base recipe. Be sure to try the "Southwest" version.

This basic recipe was a huge success. I doubled the batch last year and still had to make more for the sandwiches the next day. I've never seen people go after cranberry sauce like this before. I will make it again, and again. Love this easy and delicious recipe!
