Maybe the previous reviewer used too much of the italian seasoning? I substituted 2 T. of regular italian herb mix, and about 1/2 tsp.+ of red pepper flakes to the rest of the ingredients and followed cooking instructions. It came out great, and I'm using it on veggies, pasta, and sausages. I plan to keep some on hand to use instead of jarred pasta sauce. Thanks Norman.

I love the spicy curry flavors found in Indian and Thai foods. I love the spicy peppers found in Mexican food. Basically I am not one to shy when it comes to hot and spicy cusine. But this was ridiculous. Way way way way too spicy. The first bite had me and the kids coughing until tears ran down our face. I made the Italian seasoning exactly how it was written and I followed the sauce recipe perfectly as well. I would not make this recipe for anyone unless they eat whole habaneros for breakfast. Yes, I know the word 'Spicy' is in the name of the recipe but the word 'Inedible' should be too. IF I were to ever attempt this again I would use 1/2 tsp of seasoning over the 1 1/2 T the recipe calls for.
