Ingredients

  • 1, 8oz can(s) tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoon(s) vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon(s) chili powder
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1 teaspoon(s) garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) allspice
  • 3 pound(s) lean stew meat
  • 1 tablespoon(s) olive oil
  • 1 cup(s) beef broth
  • 1 cup(s) water
  • medium potatoes peeled and quartered
  • medium carrots cut in large pieces

Preparation

  1. Brown the stew meat in olive oil in a large stew pot. Add remaining remaining ingredients except for potatoes and carrots. Bring to a boil and then cover and simmer for one hour. Add potatoes and carrots and simmer an additional 30-40 minutes or until tender. Thicken with some cornstarch and water mixed together.
