Mustard Sauce

Yield Makes 1 cup

  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons prepared mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Hot cooked pasta
  • Chopped fresh parsley (optional)

How to Make It

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat; add garlic, and saute 2 to 3 minutes.

  2. Whisk together whipping cream and next 6 ingredients. Add to skillet; cook, stirring constantly, 2 to 3 minutes or until thickened. Toss with pasta. Sprinkle with parsley, if desired.

  3. Note: For testing purposes only, we used French's classic yellow mustard.
