Mustard Sauce

Yield 2 cups

Ingredients

  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1 egg yolk, well beaten
  • 2 tablespoons dry mustard
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

How to Make It

  1. Combine all ingredients in top of a double boiler; beat with a wire whisk until blended . Cook over warm water, stirring constantly , 1 hour or until slightly thickened. Serve warm or cold.
