Mushroom Sauce

This recipe goes with Festive Pork Loin Roast

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 (8-ounce) packages sliced fresh mushrooms (3 3/4 cups)
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 large garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups white wine
  • 1/2 cup reserved pan drippings or chicken broth


  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat; add mushrooms and next 4 ingredients, and sauté 6 to 7 minutes or until tender. Stir in salt, white wine, and pan drippings; cook 10 minutes.
