Mushroom Sauce

Yield about 1 1/4 cups


  • 1/2 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 1 cup Basic Brown Sauce
  • 1/4 cup sherry
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons finely chopped green onion
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

How to Make It

  1. Sauté mushrooms in butter until tender; add Basic Brown Sauce, sherry, onion, salt, and pepper, stirring well. Simmer 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Serve hot with roast beef or steak.
