Tasty, but needs more filling to make it excellent. Too much pastry, not enough mushroom and egg mixture.

I made these as an appetizer for Valentine's Day. With a small cookie cutter, I cut the puff pastry into heart shapes. I made the indention as big as I could in order to fit as much filling as possible into the hearts. I didn't want it to be really bready. I used dry vermouth instead of Madeira because that's what I had on hand. I couldn't find my small funnel, so I used an injector to put the egg filling into the mushrooms. A great idea if I say so myself! It turned out very well; the mushroom filling had an excellent flavor. Even those who claim to not like mushrooms liked these enough to make an empty platter to take home.
