Mushroom Pan Gravy



about 3/4 cup

1/2 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup beef broth
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Dash of Worcestershire sauce
Dash of ground nutmeg


Sauté mushrooms in butter in a small saucepan over low heat 5 minutes. Add flour, stirring until mushrooms are well coated. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add beef broth; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Stir in remaining ingredients. Serve with hamburgers, meat loaf, or steaks.
