Ingredients

  • 6 regular-size red zinger tea bags
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 4 whole allspice
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 2 (3-inch) sticks cinnamon
  • 6 cups apple cider

How to Make It

  1. Combine tea bags and water in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil. Boil, uncovered, until liquid is reduced to 2 cups.

  2. Remove tea bags, and stir in spices. Let cool; chill at least 1 hour. Remove and discard spices.

  3. Combine tea mixture and apple cider in a large saucepan, stirring well. Place over medium heat until hot.

Cook's Notes

For an alcoholic version, stir 1 cup spiced rum into the entire recipe of cider tea or add 2 tablespoons spiced rum to each serving.
