Mother's Banana Bread

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 2 eggs well beaten
  • 1/2 cup(s) shortening
  • 1 cup(s) sugar
  • 2 can(s) flour
  • 1 teaspoon(s) baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt


  1. Beat the bananas until liquid. Combine with eggs and set aside. Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add banana mix and blend. Sift dry ingredients together and add to banana mix - stir until smooth. Pour into 2 well-greased loaf pans and bake at 350 F for 40 - 50 minutes or until done.
