Mint Hot Fudge Sauce
To crush the candies, unwrap them, place in a large zip-top plastic bag, and seal. Bash the candies with a rolling pin until coarse.
Yield: Makes about 3 1/2 cups

Ingredients
- 1 12-oz can evaporated milk
- 8 ounces crushed hard peppermint candies (about 45 candies)
- 4 1-oz. squares unsweetened chocolate
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
Preparation
- Microwave evaporated milk in a microwave-safe bowl at HIGH 2 minutes or until hot. Stir in crushed candies, stirring constantly until candies dissolve. Melt chocolate and butter in a large heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly. Gradually stir in evaporated milk mixture. Gradually whisk in sugar. Cook, whisking constantly, over low heat 3 minutes or until smooth. Remove from heat, and whisk in salt.
