After having my eye on this recipe for awhile, I made this for my husband's birthday. The kids and I tasted the batter and we thought it was going to be delicious. However, once we baked it, the bananas were overpowering- and I LOVE bananas. All of the other flavors just seemed to get lost. Had I known, I would have definitely left them out and it would have been a great cake.

MADE THIS CAKE FOR THANKSGIVING. RECEIVED RAVE REVIEWS. THE ONLY THING I CHANGED WAS THAT I ADDED A LITTLE MORE POWDERED SUGAR TO THE ICING BECAUSE IT WAS A LITTLE TOO SOFT. DEFINITELY WORTH THE EFFORT. IT IS A KEEPER

I made a half recipe and my family loved it! It's our new Birthday cake recipe. There are many flavors they all compliment each other perfectly. The cake is moist and well balanced with the white chocolate frosting. Excellent!

This cake was awesome! I made it for an office party and after one of my co-workers tasted it she said she didn't want anything else...even the dessert she brought. Another emailed me that they "hurt themselves eating this cake because it was so good".

I made this for my wedding cake. There was enough cake to serve 50 +. We had 35 guests. There was no cake left!!! Absolutely the best cake I've ever had!! Everyone else agreed as well! I made it exactly according to the recipe (except I doubled it!) and I wouldn't change a thing. I didn't think the bananas were overpowering the cake. All the flavors blended very nicely. I think it helps if you don't use over-ripe bananas but rather ones that are "just" ripe. Thank you for posting the recipe!

CennaLlipscomb: Did you look at the picture??? If you are going to make and eat this cake you DON'T CARE about the nutrituonal value! Don't leave a review like this UNLESS you have made it and can give it a REVIEW. That is why they call it a REVIEW.

Why does recipe say "2 1/2 cups milk, divided? Directions say nothing about dividing it. Cake was overly moist but delicious

This cake was absolutely outstanding! I halved the recipe and everything came out perfectly. You could never tell I used cake mix. Even the non-nut lovers liked it! I will definitely make this again. The only change I made was I used about a cup less powdered sugar in the cream cheese frosting (which I could not stop eating!)
