Matzo Balls

  • 4 Eggs lightly beaten
  • 1/3 cup(s) Vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon(s) salt if using unsalted matzo meal
  • 1 cup(s) matzo meal or ground gluten free crackers
  • 1/4 cup(s) water


  1. Beat together the eggs and oil (and salt if using). Stir in matzo meal, then the liquid. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour.

  2. Bring soup or water to a boil and drop in one ball at a time. Cover, reduce heat and simmer until tender (20 minutes).
