Marinara Sauce

Yield 2 cups

Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 (16-ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 (16-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

How to Make It

  1. Sauté onion and garlic in hot olive oil in a large skillet 5 minutes; add tomato sauce and remaining ingredients. Reduce heat, and simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes.
