Intensely sweet maple sugar flavors this version of the classic sweet-salty snack. To prevent the sugar from burning, shake the pan as the popcorn cooks.
2 tablespoons canola oil
1/2 cup unpopped popcorn kernels
1/4 cup maple sugar
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
How to Make It
Heat oil in a 3-quart saucepan over medium-high heat. Add popcorn, sugar, and salt to pan; cover and cook 3 minutes or until kernels begin to pop, shaking pan frequently. Continue cooking 2 minutes, shaking pan constantly to prevent burning. When popping slows down, remove pan from heat. Let stand, covered, until all popping stops.
