Mandarin Oranges with Grand Marnier and Mascarpone

This cool dessert can be on your table before the dishes are cleared. Add a little punch to the oranges with a splash of Grand Marnier, and top with just-sweet-enough mascarpone cheese. Serve in martini or wine glasses with a sprig of mint for a stylish presentation.

  • 1/4 cup reduced-fat sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons mascarpone cheese
  • 4 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 (15-ounce) can mandarin oranges in light syrup, drained
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Grand Marnier (orange-flavored liqueur)
  • Mint leaves (optional)


  1. 1. Combine first 3 ingredients in a small bowl, stirring with a whisk until sugar dissolves.
  2. 2. Combine oranges and liqueur; spoon evenly into 3 wine glasses or dessert dishes. Spoon sour cream mixture over oranges; garnish with mint leaves, if desired.
