  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1 1/3 cups sugar
  • 1 1/3 cups fresh lemon juice


  1. Combine water and sugar in a heavy saucepan; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat, and cool to room temperature. Stir in fresh lemon juice; cover and chill at least 4 hours. Store in refrigerator up to 4 days.
