Lower Alabama Whole Hog Basting Sauce

Ingredients

1 quart vinegar
2 cups water
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup fresh lemon juice (about 5 lemons)
1/4 cup French dressing
1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Preparation

Stir together all ingredients in a 3 1/2 quart saucepan over medium heat; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally, 30 minutes.
