An easy dressing for steamed vegetables is a splash of olive oil and fresh lemon juice. It works for everything from green beans to asparagus to broccoli.
1 pound green beans, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
1 1/2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon olive oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
How to Make It
Steam green beans, covered, 5 minutes or until crisp-tender. Drain and return to pan. Add juice, oil, salt, and pepper; toss to coat. Serve immediately.
