An easy dressing for steamed vegetables is a splash of olive oil and fresh lemon juice. It works for everything from green beans to asparagus to broccoli.
1 pound green beans, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
1 1/2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon olive oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
How to Make It
Steam green beans, covered, 5 minutes or until crisp-tender. Drain and return to pan. Add juice, oil, salt, and pepper; toss to coat. Serve immediately.

Great, light and refreshing. We always prepare the heavy slow-cooked Southern style green beans with bacon, onion, garlic & butter. Nice change. Have already made them 3 times in the last 2 weeks. Great with grilled meats & chicken.
It doesn't get much easier than this. This is a really nice simple, fresh, and heart-healthy side dish that will not dominate your entree, only complement it. No hesitation at all to serve to company. Definite keeper!
These green beans were great! I don't even like green beans but I was cooking a bbq rib dinner for my parents and in-laws and wanted to make a vegetable so I looked up green beans and I ended up really liking them. I have made them for company another time since then and both times people asked what I put on the green beans cause they tasted so good. Thanks for the recipe.
