I usually read the reviews before I try a recipe....I would not make this one again. Some of the rice was mush and some not cooked. Ultimately, it was barely edible.

I made this recipe a few days ago and thought it was terrible. The rice was mush and the chicken didn't have much flavor. I actually just logged on so that I could remove the recipe from my file because I won't be making this again.

I followed the recipe and at first the rice did not cook at all. I turned the slow cooker to high checked an hour later and some of the rice was mush and some was still uncooked. The flavor of the chicken had potential.

The rice turned out "gummy". The flavor was OK but the texture of the rice was a turnoff and I only cooked it for 2 hours. The chicken was moist but that is to be expected with a slow cooker. Overall, would NOT recommend or make again.

Why would a recipe with such terrible reviews be on your website?

Based on the previous reviews I doctored this recipe. I followed the recipe but used 2 boxes of Uncle Ben's instead of rice. I preheated the slowcooker and cooked on high for 2 hours, opening and stirring after each hour. I added water when it was done to loosen up the rice. Everything was cooked and was so YUMMY. We loved it.

The flavors are very good. But after 3 hours, the rice was not cooked at all. I'll try it again sometime, but I'll cook the rice a little before adding the chicken.

COOK YOUR RICE FIRST! After 3 hours, the rice wasn't even close to done. I had to remove the rice from the crockpot and boil it on the stove. Might be easier to cook the chicken separately and use the lemon-broth to make the rice. Don't get out your crockpot for this dish!
