Lemon Sauce

Yield 1 3/4 cups


  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine, softened

How to Make It

  1. Combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a small saucepan; mix well. Gradually add water and lemon juice; stir until smooth. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, 10 minutes or until thickened. Add butter; stir until butter melts. Cool slightly.
