Lemon Sauce

Ingredients

1 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1 tablespoon grated lemon zest
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice

Preparation

Stir together first 4 ingredients in a small saucepan until smooth. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat 5 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat, and stir in butter, zest, and lemon juice. Serve warm or cold.
