Lemon Sauce

1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
3/4 cup water
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 teaspoon grated lemon rind
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice


Whisk together sugar and cornstarch in a small saucepan. Whisk in water. Cook, whisking constantly, over medium heat 2 minutes or until thick and bubbly. Remove from heat; add butter, whisking until butter is melted. Whisk in lemon rind and lemon juice.
