Lemon-grass Syrup

1 (3-inch) stalk lemon grass
2 kaffir lime leaves
2 cups water
2 cups sugar


Combine ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat, and let stand until cool. Refrigerate until cold. Strain before serving.
