This is the recipe I have used for years. I make it for Christmas and I don't know why I limit myself because it is so good - just that right amount of strong flavor of the horseradish coupled with the sweetness of the jellies. When I am busy and take a rest from the cooking and decorating - it is the right snack for me when I put it over some cream cheese add a cup of hot tea or cold caffiene free diet coke with some wheat thins and snack away. It is the right pick me up and doesn't fill you up for all the other goodies.
Jezebel Sauce, a classic Southern sauce, gets its sweetness from apple jelly and pineapple preserves and a spicy kick from mustard and horseradish. When you want to turn up the heat, spoon a little on ham, pork tenderloin or black-eyed peas. Prepare in advance, and chill up to eight hours.

- 1 (18-ounce) jar apple jelly
- 1 (18-ounce) jar apricot-pineapple preserves
- 1/4 cup dry mustard
- 2 tablespoons pepper
- 3 tablespoons prepared horseradish
- Stir together all ingredients; serve with pork.
