Jeff's Perfect Pesto-and-Herb Bread

I received a new bread machine as a gift and used it to create a most delicious recipe for pesto-and-herb bread. It gets rave reviews from family and friends and is a wonderful complement to meat or meatless meals.

Ingredients

  • 3 1/4 cups bread flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons 1% low-fat milk
  • 2 tablespoons commercial pesto
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil

How to Make It

  1. Lightly spoon bread flour into dry measuring cups; level with a knife. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for placing flour and remaining ingredients into the bread pan. Select the European bake cycle, and start the bread machine.
