Japanese Cabbage Salad

One of our family's favorite salads.

  • Salad:
  • 1/2 head cabbage, shredded (or one bag of prewashed shredded cabbage)
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 pkg Ramen noodles, cooked, drained & broken
  • 2 T Sesame seeds
  • 2 T Slivered almonds
  • Dressing:
  • 1/2 cup Peanut oil
  • 3 T Vinegar
  • 2 T Sugar
  • 1 t Salt
  • 1/2 t Pepper
  • 1/2 t Accent


  1. Toast almonds & sesame seeds until golden in 350 oven for 5-10 minutes. Add all salad ingredients in large bowl & toss. Mix all dressing ingredients together. Just before serving, pour over salad & toss. Serve. (Can be made ahead; just do not mix salad & dressing until ready to serve.)
