Janna Schuelkes Chocolate Dessert

This recipe was given to me by Janna Schuelkes years ago at the beginning of Jim's time in the navy.

  • 1 1/2 C.graham cracker crumbs(about 24)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 6T. melted butter
  • 1 C. powdered sugar
  • 1/2 C. butter
  • 2 Squares melted chocolate
  • 3 egg yolks, well beaten
  • 1 C. nuts
  • 3 egg whites, beaten stiff
  • 1 C. cream, whipped


  1. Cream powdered sugar and butter. Add melted chocolate and beaten egg yolks. Add nuts. Fold in beaten egg whites. Put crushed graham crackers in a plastic bag, add 1/4 C. sugar, and 6 T. melted butter. MIx until uniform and then put in an 8x8 or 9x9 size pan. Press crust into place and bake 8-10 min.in a 350 degree oven. Put chocolate creamed mixture on top of crust. Top with whipped cream and a few crushed graham crackers. Top each serving with a maraschino cherrie. Chill.
