Cooking the cajun trinity:
Dice onion, celery and tomato (if fresh is used).
Heat skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add vegetables, the one teaspoon of cajun seasoning. Sauté vegetables for about 8 minutes.
Add andouille sausage and shrimp to sautéing vegetables. Continue to sauté for about 2 more minutes until meats are heated through and vegetables are translucent.
Prepare oatmeal as per package instructions, using water/broth blend and adding paprika and cajun seasoning.
Combine, all ingredients and let stand for 2-3 minutes to cool and thicken. Add a couple splashes (or more) of tabasco or your favorite hot sauce to kick up the heat!
