Italian Meatball Sliders

These would have been much better if I had opted to use regular marinara sauce instead of the low sodium. It was very bland which is a shame because the meatballs are actually packed with flavor. I was surprised how far the meat mixture went using only 8 oz. of pork and 2 turkey sausage links. I froze the rest of the pork (I could only buy a pound, no less than that) and the sausage for next time. The suggested spinach and mozzarella salad was pretty good too and I didn't feel unsatisfied having both.

Made these last night and they were excellent. I used spicy turkey sausage and omitted red pepper flakes for my kids. Also added a pinch of fennel seeds to the meatball mix. This recipe is definitely a keeper!

These were incredibly tasty! My husband fell in love with them and keeps askign when we'll make them next. I made my own sauce by using a can of tomato puree and cookign it with some oil and oregano. FYI - I didnt' have ricotta cheese so I sued cottage cheese, they were still really good. They wer so good I don't t risk the magic and will continue using cottage cheese.

OMG, these were fantastic! I followed the recipe exactly, except that I used onion instead of shallots because I didn't have any. The sliders were moist and flavorful, and a touch spicy. Next time I have these I'm going to put a little more sauce on the bottom of the buns. I served with the Spinach and Mozzarella salad, which was also very good...I subbed tomatoes for the red peppers. Fabulous meal, which I'll definitely make again.

My friend made these for our Cooking Light group and they were one of my favorite dishes of the night. She used Hawaiian dinner rolls for slider buns. I will definitely use this one again and again.

Entire family loved these! We used potato rolls for our buns instead of "slider buns" because that's what we had on hand. I think any bun or no bun at all, these are delicious.

these were tasty little treats. we enjoyed the flavor and served it with a mixed veggie salad so it made for a nice meal. only problem was finding tiny buns...ended up using dinner rolls

This will be on our quarterly menu rotation. It was a hit with everyone. I used chicken sausage instead of turkey sausage since that's what I could easily find at the store. Served it with a veggie salad.

These were amazing! I added a small slice of fresh mozz on top of each and made with ground turkey breast and regular Italian sausage. Big hit with the entire family. Served with the Spinach and mozzarella salad pictured with it.

Absolutely terrific, even on a busy weeknight. My husband and I could not stop eating them. Surprisingly hearty, despite the small amount of meat. We loved these on small potato rolls, which are about 90 cals each. We used Trader Joe marinara sauce, which proved to be a good match.

This was really good. The only thing that I changes is that I used only turkey sausage and red onion in place of shallots. It was very simple to make and tasted very good. Rather than making them into a regular sandwich (just thought it would be too much bread), I made them open faced. Since I made it with the spinach salad pictures, I had extra fresh mozzarella and melted a small piece on top the meatballs under the broiler. What an easy, great tasting and looking meal!

These were good. My son-the meatball lover- would give it 5 stars. :) I doubled the recipe and used the leftovers another night. Great weeknight meal!

I have made this a couple of times now and it is outstanding! The only change I made was to use a gourmet pasta sauce instead of a low sodium type. Hubby is watching his weight and doesn't believe these are light and he is very particular! These are a definite winner!

Delicious and easy. I buy a pork tenderloin and weigh out 12oz chop it up in my food processor and elminate putting in the sausage. I think the flavor is wonderful and I love making the spinach salad on the side. This is a fun meal to eat and it's also nice for leftovers. Will be making many times in the future!

These are delicious - and easy to make. I made mine a little larger than 1" as that seemed small. I used Raos marinara sauce which was also perfect. I used mild sausage, but next time I may try mixing in some hot italian sausage to give them a kick.

So good! Used ground turkey instead of ground pork but followed the rest of the recipe exactly. A lot of the sauce does cook away so if you want a really saucy slider, you might want to double the marinara sauce. I'll probably use 2 cups next time.

Definitely a repeat. I made my own turkey sausage to control salt and spice to make it toddler friendly. Other than that, I followed the recipe. Good flavor, not too difficult and freezer friendly all make it a repeat. I made a few without the ricotta for the baby (who loved them) and they were also good without the dairy, so they can be friendly to those with dairy sensitivity.

I made this tonight and my wife and daughters all gave it a thumbs up. The only thing I adjusted this time was that I only used a pinch of the red pepper fllakes. Also, everyone at the table thought the basil leaves could be left out. Personally, I was ok with them, but will listen to the masses next time.
