I really like how this bread tastes but I can't get it to rise correctly.

I love this bread and have made it several times. I have never been able to incorporate all of the flour called for, however. I use only about 1-1/2 cups of the all purpose flour. Makes a wonderful loaf, though, and rises well. I always make it for our St. Pat's celebrations. Wonderful with soups and stews. Thanks for the recipe!

Perfect recipe. Not sure about the problems others have had either with rising or the amount of flour required. I followed the instructions meticulously and was rewarded with the best bread I've ever baked. Rich, nutty and well balanced, Good toasted with butter or as the base of any sandwich. Do exactly as they say and all will be well.

Sorry, we just didn't like it. Not sure if I did something wrong, but it was way too dry.
