I made this twice during the holidays and friends loved it. It's nice, too, because most of the alcohol seems to cook off and you can drink a mug without feeling the effects of the alcohol. I just used Charles Shaw Cabernet and it was great!
Hot Spiced Wine

- 2 (750-milliliter) bottles red wine
- 2 cups apple juice
- 1 cup sugar
- 6 tablespoons mulling spice
- Bring all ingredients to a boil in a Dutch oven; reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes. Pour mixture through a wire-mesh strainer into a pitcher, discarding mulling spices. Serve wine hot.
