Ingredients
- 2 quarts apple juice
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 6 whole cloves
- 1 star anise
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Preparation
- In a 3- to 4-quart pan, combine apple juice, cinnamon stick, cloves, star anise, and nutmeg; bring to a simmer over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and let stand about 1 hour or cover and chill up to 1 day. Just before serving or packing, pour through a fine strainer into another pan and reheat over medium-low heat until steaming.
