Hot Bourbon-Orange Tea Toddy

Makes 4 1/2 cups

This warm reviver can be served before or after dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 (3-inch) piece fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, cut into 8 wedges
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper
  • 3 regular-size orange pekoe tea bags
  • 1/2 cup bourbon

How to Make It

  1. Bring first 4 ingredients and 1 qt. water to a boil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Remove pan from heat. Add tea bags; steep 10 minutes. Remove and discard solids, using a slotted spoon. Whisk in bourbon, and serve hot or warm.
