Homemade Applebee's Blonde Brownies

This is my favorite dessert at Applebee's restaurant and now I can make it at home! I love Applebee's blondie with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 cups firmly packed golden brown sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 sticks unsalted butter (10 tablespoons)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

How to Make It

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Flour and butter a 9 x13 x 2 pan.

  2. Sift flour into a bowl.

  3. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Set aside.

  4. Melt butter.

  5. In mixing bowl, place melted butter and add sugar, mixing well. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.

  6. Add flour slowly, blending. Batter will be slightly thick.

  7. Spread in pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans over all.

  8. Bake for 25 30 minutes.

  9. Let cool and cut into squares (I like them about 3 inches!).
