Banana Grilled Cheese

Sliced bananas elevate this grilled ham and cheese to another stratosphere.


  • 8 slices white bread
  • 8 slices Monterey Jack cheese
  • 8 slices 1/4 pound ham thinly sliced
  • 2 bananas (peeled and sliced 1/4 inches thick)
  • 1 tablespoon butter

How to Make It

  1. Top a slice of bread with 1 cheese slice and 2 ham slices. Arrange banana slices on top, then cover with 1 more cheese slice and bread. Repeat to make 4 sandwiches.

  2. Melt butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Cook sandwiches in skillet until golden on one side. Flip, and cook until cheese has melted and bottom is golden brown. Serve warm.
