Herb Crostini with Blue Cheese Spread and Caramelized Onion Relish

Crostini is a fresh way to use that leftover half baguette or other bread that's hanging around. Experiment with flavors--try dry spices such as chili powder, cumin, and curry; different herbs; or flavored oils like sesame, walnut, or spicy chili oil. Make crostini 3 days in advance; let cool completely, and store at room temperature in an airtight container. It'll also add a flavorful crunch when served with soup, broken up atop salads, or as an hors d'oeuvre. Prep: 60 minutes, Bake: 10 minutes.
