Hearty Navy Bean Soup

    This was okay. I wish I hadn't made such a bit pot, though..... I did use chicken broth instead of water, but even with that the flavor was one dimensional and fairly flat. I added a little "better than bouillan" to try to save this recipe and it helped but I probably won't make this again.

    Worthy of a Special Occasion

    I made the Safeway navy bean package soup recipe, which is very similar to this one. I referred to this for nuitritional info. Having read the comments, I made it using 8 cups stock and one cup water, then used 4 cups onions, just 1 cup carrots, 2 cups potatoes, 3 tablespoons garlic, and 2 lbs smoked pork hocks. It was very flavorful, but I still added Better than Bouillon for greater flavor. It was excellent, though not as light.
