Heart-Shaped Cookies

First of all, when I made this recipe by the instructions, it wasn't near the consistency of dough. I ended up putting 5 cups of flour in instead of 3 to get a doughy consistency. Second of all, for the icing, it just has food coloring, and nothing else for ingredients. I am assuming it is supposed to have milk and sugar or water and sugar or something. I guess I will have to go to another website to find that recipe. Thirdly, there isn't any instructions on how to make the icing, it just says reserve 1/4 of it. I think this recipe needs some editing. I have made the dough and am waiting for it to chill. I will update when I am finished baking them. I just had to get this off my chest.

I followed the recipe exactly as written and it was sticky after being chilled for 4 hours. More flower fixed that and my grandchildren had fun cutting cookies. They baked just fine and tasted great. Our problem was with the icing. You can get the recipe by clicking the word "Icing". It was just too tart for us and we like lemons. We used other types of icing and sprinkles to make the cookies edible.
