This sweet and savory dish is nice with a green salad or carrot sticks. Our kid testers thought it was a neat switch from classic French toast.

  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • 8 slices white, sourdough, or challah bread
  • 1 tablespoon spicy brown mustard

    Heat oven to 400 degrees.

Whisk eggs and milk in a shallow bowl.

Heat large skillet coated with nonstick cooking spray over medium heat.

Dip 4 bread slices in egg mixture; cook 3 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Remove from skillet; repeat with remaining 4 slices.

Thinly spread 4 slices with mustard; top each with 1/4 of the ham and pineapple. Cover with remaining slices.

Place sandwiches on a baking sheet; heat in oven, about 3 minutes.

TIP: You can swap smoked turkey for ham.
