Hasty Cake

Yield one 8-inch cake

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Quick 'N Easy Frosting

How to Make It

  1. Cream butter in a large mixing bowl; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add egg, beating mixture well.

  2. Combine dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Stir in vanilla.

  3. Pour batter into a greased and floured 8-inch square pan. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes; remove from pan, and let cool completely. Spread Quick 'n Easy Frosting on top and sides of cake.
