He loved it! I called him for dinner and he said that when he started down the stairs the aroma was WOW. We were in the mood for 'comfort' food so, I just served it atop Garlic-Rosemary Smashed Potatoes. He had seconds!

Perfect! My family gave this recipe 10 stars, but 5 is the highest rating on this web site.

I used Italian dried bread crumbs instead of the honey-wheat and lean ground beef. I made this for a family dinner with my mom and brother's family. Everyone was super impresed. I served it with mashed potatoes so I made extra gravy. A loaf of French bread was perfect for sopping up all the extra. Will be keeping this recipe on hand.

Loved this!! Followed the directions exactly and it came out perfectly...even our 6 year old ate all of his even though he didn't want to. (he wanted mac/cheese) Paired it with grilled vegies, excellent summer dish! Make sure you have onions chopped and mushrooms ready to put in the pan. This meal will be a regular in our home!!

It was ok. Texture was a bit mushy and tasted more like a meatloaf to us. Not bad, but not a favorite.

Hi everyone, I just use cube steaks from the store it is still inexpensive meat. put it in the slow cooker with beefy onion soup mix, you can saute some fresh mushrooms or use canned. I make swiss steak pretty much the same way but i'll add canned tomatoes. My way at least is less dishes and more time for me.Oh, to make the gravy add 1/4c flour to 1/3c water mix together and add to juice (take everything else out) stir in slowly no lumps let heat up should make gravy. I do that with beef stew. good luck. the slow cooker is our friend.

I made this tonight for my husband & I. We both loved it! I substituted 1/4 c. of the water for Marsala wine. It was amazing! THe burgers do have a bit of a meatloaf texture but we loved it that way....like delicious meatloaf patties with mushroom-onion gravy. The meat was super flavorful. Definately recommend! You could also try substituting red wine for some of the water. Either way, or even with just water, I know it will be wonderful...the garlic in the meat makes it so tasty.

Easy and pretty good. Not amazing, but for a weeknight dinner, it works.

Around here, we serve it with steak fries. We also slice an extra onion or two, and separate into rings and throw them in with the gravy to simmer until tender. Talk about YUM!
