Coarse, slightly sour pumpernickel bread is the perfect base for maple-flavored ham, fresh pear slices, and a sweet cream cheese spread. Toast the bread before assembling the sandwiches, if desired. Baby spinach may be substituted for the arugula.

How to Make It

Combine first 3 ingredients in a small bowl, stirring well. Spread cheese mixture evenly over each bread slice. Top 4 bread slices evenly with ham, arugula, and pear slices. Top with remaining bread slices, cheese-mixture side down.
